How these work

Every tool here shows its working: what you asked, the method, each intermediate value, what it assumed and where the answer stops being reliable. The full breakdown is free and always visible. Where we do not hold the data to answer, the tool says so instead of applying an average.

Not built yet, and why

Tools follow demand and available evidence rather than being built speculatively. These are the ones that have been considered and deliberately not shipped.

  • Whole to ground converter

Work out how much ground spice a given quantity of whole spice yields.

Blocked by: Needs measured per-spice yield data, which SpiceHQ does not hold. The commonly circulated generic ratios are not sourced, and publishing one would be exactly the false precision this platform exists to avoid.

  • Substitute finder

Find a replacement for a spice you do not have, filtered by what you are cooking.

Blocked by: The substitution graph supports this today, but the context filtering that would make it better than the existing substitutes pages needs a wider dataset first. Building it now would duplicate /substitutes without improving on it.
